On February 5 2018, Murawin is holding its first Makarrata Conversational Workshop; a unique two hour workshop exploring the context behind Makarrata and need for a process of agreement-making between governments and First Nations and real truth-telling about our history.
Participants will explore how we can draw on the Makarrata process in moving forward towards achieving healing in our country. We all have a role to play, the thing is how do we define our role and do what needs to be done.
At the Garma festival in 2017, the leaders of the Yolgnu people gifted the Makarrata process to the Australian people to work together to bring about the opportunity for truth-telling and peace-making. This workshop is Murawin's contribution to participating in the process of healing.
The workshop is to be held at North Parramatta, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. This is a free, but limited number event, so register your place online now at: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/makarrata-conversational-workshop-tickets-42060359668
We will be hosting similar workshops at various locations throughout the year.
